This painting is an original oil reproduction, meticulously executed in 2013, serving as a profound homage to the timeless Orientalist masterpiece, "Women of Algiers in their Apartment" (Femmes d'Alger dans leur appartement) by the great French Romantic artist, Eugène Delacroix.
​The work successfully recreates the intimate and mysterious atmosphere of the original interior scene, where three women are captured in a moment of quiet repose and relaxation within a chamber rich with ornamentation and warm colors. I focused on recapturing Delacroix’s sensitivity to light, shadow, and the saturated intensity of the oil paints.

​The painting was completed using oil paints on canvas in 2013. The focus was placed on rendering rich, expressive brushstrokes to emulate the texture of the silk and cotton fabrics, while preserving the romantic and expressive spirit of Delacroix's style.

The composition is dominated by warm, deeply saturated colors—rich reds, emerald greens, and golden yellows—which accentuate the luxurious textiles. Lighting plays a central role, illuminating the figures in the foreground while casting the background into deep shadows, adding a dramatic sense of depth.

The original composition is faithfully rendered, capturing key decorative elements such as the brass nargileh (hookah) in the foreground, the intricate patterns on the carpets and cushions, and the detailed garments and jewelry.

​In the upper right corner of the background, where ornamental Arabic script appeared in the original, a unique artistic addition has been incorporated: I (Nouadria Mustapha) rendered in elegant Arabic calligraphy. This deliberate inclusion serves as a "personal artistic stamp" and internal signature. It is the defining feature that clearly distinguishes this 21st-century oil copy from the 1834 masterwork by Delacroix, lending it a unique artistic identity and added personal value.
